    Step 1

    In a small bowl, mix together the onion, ginger- garlic paste, red chili, turmeric, salt, garam masala and half a cup of yogurt.

    Heat the oil in a shallow pan over medium heat. Fry fish for 10 minutes or until brown and cooked through.

    Wash the fish pieces in cold water and drain in a colander for 15 minutes.

    Put the oil in a deep frying pan and add the ginger and garlic, then stir fry for 2 minutes.

    Add the tumeric, salt, ajowan, ground coriander and red chilli powder and mix well.

    Step 4

    Cook, uncovered, on a low flame for 5 minutes. Now add the yogurt. Stir well.

    Cook the mixture uncovered on a low heat, stirring from time to time, until oil separates out and excess liquid evaporates.

    Step 6

    If the mixture starts sticking stir in 2 tablespoons of water. Gently put the fish pieces into the frying pan and cook uncovered, on a medium heat for 7-10 minutes or until cooked thorough.

    Step 7

    Garnish with chopped coriander and garam masala. Balti Fish Curry is ready to serve.

    • 500 gm boneless  fish
    • 1 onion, finely chopped
    • 8 green chilies
    • 1 tsp ginger paste
    • 1 tsp garlic paste
    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds, roasted & crushed
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 3 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, finely  chopped
    • 2 tbsp fresh mint leaves, finely  chopped
    • 3 tbsp Ghee or oil

     

    Directions:

    1. Place boneless fish, green chilies, onion, salt, red chili powder, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste in a chopper.
    2. Process until well blended.
    3. Put into a large bowl, add chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves.
    4. Mix well.
    5. Make kebabs of it and put on skewers.
    6. Preheat grill on medium high heat.
    7. Lightly greased the grill with oil.
    8. Place skewers on preheated grill and grill for 10-12 minutes or until done.
    9. Turning occasionally.
    10. When cooked remove from the skewers, sprinkle lemon juice over it.
    11. Mahi Seekh Kabab is ready to serve.

    Boil the fish and remove the bones nicely.

    Drain and set aside.

    Ingredients

    • 500 gm fish fillets
    • 3 tbsp oil
    • 3 tbsp tamarind pulp
    • 3 tbsp fresh coriander leaves chopped
    • 2 tbsp pomegranate seeds grounded
    • 1-1/2 tsp red chili powder
    • 1-1/2 tsp coriander powder
    • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
    • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
    • 1/2 tsp fennel powder
    • salt to taste

    Instructions

    Method

    • Wash fish fillets and drain.
    • In a small bow, combine together salt, red chilies, coriander powder, cumin powder, fennel powder, cardamom powder and pomegranate.
    • Coat fish fillets with this mixture.
    • Place fish in a hot frying pan.
    • Cook for 2 minutes then pour tamarind pulp and hot oil over the fish fillets.

    Ingredients

    • 300 gm fish fillets
    • 1/2 cup plain flour, for dusting
    • 1 egg
    • 4 tbsp oil
    • 2 tbsp plain flour, for batter
    • 2 tbsp cornflour
    • 1 tbsp garlic paste
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • salt to taste

     

    Directions:

    1. Cut fish fillets into square pieces.
    2. In a small bowl, combine together plain flour, corn flour and beaten egg.
    3. Season with salt and black pepper.
    4. Mix well and make a smooth batter.
    5. Place remaining plain flour in a shallow dish.
    6. Coat fish pieces in flour then dip in the batter.
    7. Heat oil in a deep wok.

    Ingredients

    • 8 ounce boneless fish
    • 1 cup water
    • 1 egg, lightly beaten
    • 1 potato, boiled & mashed
    • 1 onion, finely chopped
    • 3 green chilies, finely chopped
    • 1tbsp fresh coriander leaves
    • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • 1/2 tsp all spice
    • salt according to taste
    • bread crumbs as required
    • oil for frying

    Yield: 3 servings

    Directions:

    1. Steam fish fillets for 10 minutes in water.
    2. Drain fish and mash properly.
    3. In a bowl, add mashed potato, fish, onion, green chilies, ginger garlic paste, black pepper, all spice, coriander leaves, egg and salt.
    4. Mix well.
    5. Shape into round patties.
    6. Roll patties in bread crumbs.
    7. Shallow fry fish patties on each side for 2 minute or until golden.

    Fish tikka shashlik is quite popular among all fish lovers in the world. Here, I’m providing you an easy recipe for preparing delicious, healthy  fish tikka Shashlik at home. And make quick and easy BBQ sauce using items from your refrigerator and spice rack. It’s a simple mixture you can modify and experiment with until you’ve created your own secret sauce.

    Fish Tikka Shashlik Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 1/2 kg fish fillets
    • 1/4 cup oil
    • 2 to matoes cut into cubes
    • 2 onions cut into cubes
    • 2 capsicums cut into cubes
    • 2 tbsp yogurt
    • 2 tbsp fresh cream
    • 1 tbsp vinegar
    • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
    • 1 tbsp cornflour
    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • 1 tsp cumin powder
    • 1/2 tsp chat masala
    • 1-1/2 tsp salt
    • a pinch of orange food color
    • coriander leaves for garnishing

    Instructions

    Method

    • Cut fish fillets into 1 inch cubes.
    • Marinate fish pieces with ginger garlic paste, red Chilli powder, cumin powder, salt, yogurt, vinegar, cornflour, cream and food coloring.
    • Keep aside for 20 minutes.
    • Thread fish pieces, tomato, capsicum and onion on a shashlik stick.
    • Repeat this procedure with all remaining ingredients and prepare other sticks in the same manner.
    • Heat a little oil in a shallow pan.
    • Fry shashlik sticks in it or grill them for 10-15 minutes.
    • Fish Tikka Shashlik is ready to serve. ENJOY!!

    • 1 kg King fish clean and cut in cubes
    • 2 tbsp White vinegar
    • 1 tbsp Red crushed chilli
    • 1 tsp White cumin roasted and ground
    • 4 tbsp Lemon juice
    • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
    • Salt to taste
    • 4 tbsp Oil

    Instructions

    • Apply vinegar and salt on fish and wash after 10 minutes.
    • Then apply all spices and lemon juice and marinade for 1-1/2 hour.
    • Thread on skewers and BBQ, grill or fry in a bit oil.
    • When done then apply oil with brush and squeeze lemon again. Spicy Fish Tikka is ready to serve.

    Tandoori Fish Tikka Recipe

    Ingredients

    • 500 gm boneless fish
    • 1 cup plain yogurt
    • 2 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
    • 1 tsp red chili flakes
    • 1 tsp ground cumin
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
    • 1/2 tsp chat masala
    • a pinch of red food color
    • salt to taste

    Instructions

    Method

    • Wash fish fillets properly and cut into 1 inch cubes.
    • Season with salt and red pepper. Drizzle lemon juice over it. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
    • In a small bow, add yogurt, ground cumin, garam masala powder and food color. Mix well.
    • Pour this batter over the fish. Toss to coat evenly.
    • Marinate fish for 4-6 hours.
    • Thread marinated fish on thin skewers. Cook in a hot tandoor or oven for 15 minutes turning once.
    • Take it from the oven. Sprinkle chaat masala over it. Garnish with lemon wedges. Tandoori Fish Tikka is ready to serve.

    • 1 kg fish fillets
    • 2 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • 1 tsp mustard powder
    • 1/2 tsp white pepper
    • 2 eggs lightly beaten
    • 1 cup plain flour
    • 1 cup breadcrumbs
    • salt to taste
    • oil for frying

    Instructions

    Method

    • Rinse and drained fish fillets then cut the fish into finger shaped pieces.
    • Place the fish in a bowl, add soy sauce, lemon juice, mustard powder, red chili, salt and pepper.
    • Marinate fish for at least 2 hours.
    • Place the flour, eggs and bread crumbs in 3 separate bowl.
    • Roll each fish finger in flour, then dip in egg and again roll in breadcrumbs properly. Place them in a single layer on flat dish.
    • Heat oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Deep fry the finger fish for 8-10 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
    • Drain on paper towel. Finger fish is ready to serve.
