    Ingredients in Strawberry Trifle:

    If you’re heading to the store, these are the ingredients to add to your list:

    • 350 gm plain cake or pound cake
    • good quality strawberry jam
    • 400 gm strawberries , sliced
    • 1 tbsp caster sugar
    • 500 gm pot of good quality strawberry custard
    • 1 cup strawberry flavored jelly
    • 1 cup fresh cream, lightly whipped
    • 250 ml whipped cream, (approximately 1 cup)
    • strawberry sauce, optional (for topping)

    Can Trifle be Frozen?

    No, I wouldn’t recommend it.

    How Long will Trifle will Keep?

    My trifle keeps well for 3-4 days. Always keep it refrigerated.

    How many does this trifle feed?

    It depends, but my guess is it would feed approximately 6-8 people.

    Strawberry Trifle Recipe

    • 350 gm plain cake
    • good quality strawberry jam
    • 400 gm strawberries (sliced)
    • 1 tbsp caster sugar
    • 500 gm pot of good quality strawberry custard
    • 1 cup strawberry flavored jelly
    • 1 cup fresh cream (lightly whipped)
    • 250 ml whipped cream ((approximately 1 cup))
    • strawberry sauce (optional (for topping))
    1. Make your strawberry jelly in advance according to packet instructions. Pour it into a small rectangle or square baking tin, so it’s roughly 1 inch high. Leave it in the fridge to set.

    2. Begin by prepping everything. Chop your strawberries in half and sprinkle the sugar over the strawberries.

    3. Slice the cake and sandwich the slices together with jam. Cut into 1 inch squares.

    4. In a bowl, mix together the chilled custard and fresh cream. Fold into strawberries.

    5. To assemble, divide the cake between 6 glasses and sprinkle a little strawberry sauce over each.

    6. Spoon over the creamy strawberry custard then top each with a layer of jelly and a layer of whipped cream.

    7. Decorate with strawberries.Enjoy!

    1. You can use any plain store bought cake (that’s not frosted) like sponge cake, pound cake etc.
    2. You can use strawberry juice or another liquid if you like.

    Directions:

    Step 1

    Heat the oil and fry the onions till they are light golden in colour.

    Step 2

    Remove with a slotted spoon and grind them together with the cardamoms, cloves, nutmeg and mace.

    Step 3

    Re-heat the oil. Put the cinnamon, ginger garlic paste, mutton pieces and salt. Cook for 15 minutes or until the meat is light brown.

    Step 4

    Mix the ground onion mixture with the yoghurt, red chilly powder and coriander powder.

    Step 5

    Add this to the meat and let it cook over a low heat till the meat is tender.

    Step 6

    If required, add 1 cup of water to make gravy.

    Step 7

    Sprinkle the kewra and saffron on it and let it simmer for approximately 5 – 10 minutes till the oil floats on top. Delhi Wala Korma is ready to serve.

    Zinger Burger Recipe

    For Chicken Marination

    • 4 boneless skinless chicken breast (flattened)
    • 3 tablespoon white vinegar
    • 2 tablespon mustard paste
    • 1 teaspoon red chili (crushed)
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • Salt to taste

    For Coating

    • 3 eggs (lightly beaten)
    • 1 cup rice flour
    • 1 cup corn flour
    • 1/2 cup white plain flour
    • 2 tablespoon chicken powder
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • oil for frying

    Other ingredients

    • 1 cup mayonnaise
    • 4 burger buns
    • salad leaves as required

    Method

    1. Flatten chicken breast with a kitchen hammer.
    2. Put them in a large mixing bowl.
    3. Add mustard paste, white vinegar, salt, red chilli and garlic powder. Turn to coat evenly.
    4. Cover and marinate for 30 minutes to blend flavors.
    5. In a small bowl, Mix together the mayonnaise and mustard paste. Set aside.
    6. Meanwhile, Take a large bowl, combine together the rice flour, corn flour, white flour, black pepper, white pepper, chicken powder, baking powder, garlic powder and salt. Keep aside.
    7. Beat eggs in a small bowl.
    8. First, coat the marinated chicken with flour mixture. Then dip in eggs and again repeat this process.
    9. Heat oil in a large pan or skillet over medium heat. Deep fry Chicken for 5 minutes then put the lid on and cook anoher 5-8 minutes or until chicken is cooked thorough and turn golden brown.
    10. Remove from oil and keep warm.
    11. Cut the burger buns in half. Hot a non-stick griddle over medium heat. Toast or warm the burger buns on it.
    12. Spread mayo sauce on the burger bun then put fried chicken on it. Again spread mayo sauce on it. Top with lettuce or salad leaves. Cover with the other half of the bun. Delicious Zinger Burger is ready to serve.

    Serving Suggestions:
    Serve hot with french fries or coleslaw salad.

    • 500 gm pan fry fish
    • 2 spring onions, thinly sliced
    • 4 tbsp Chilli sauce
    • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
    • 1 tbsp Worcester sauce
    • 1 tbsp vinegar
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • salt to taste

     

    Directions:

    1. Place fish in a large mixing bowl.
    2. Add spring onion, vinegar, Worcester sauce, tomato ketchup and chilli sauce.
    3. Season with salt and pepper.
    4. Mix well.
    5. Marinate for 15-30 minutes.
    6. Preheat oven to 200 degree C.
    7. Bake fish for 30 minutes or until cooked thorough.
    8. Sweet and Sour Baked fish is ready to serve. Enjoy!!

    French Fries Recipe

    There are a rare people who do not like french fries. In this recipe, I gives French Fries a spicy flavor by adding some seasoning. No more soggy fries at home!

    • 6 large potatoes
    • 1/2 cup cornflour
    • 1 teaspoon red pepper
    • 1 teaspoon herb seasoning
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • chaat masala powder (for sprinkling)
    • Oil for deep Frying

    Method

    1. Wash potatoes then peel.Cut potatoes in shape of fries and soak them in salted cold water for 30 minutes.
    2. Remove from the water and drain. Lay the potato sticks on two baking sheets lined with paper towel. Blot with paper towels to dry them properly.
    3. In a shallow dish, combine together cornflour, herb seasoning, garlic powder,red pepper and salt.
    4. Place dry potato sticks in it and coat them evenly.
    5. Heat a few inches of oil in a heavy bottom pan over medium heat.
    6. In 3 or 4 batches, fry the potatoes for 15-20 minutes or until crispy and golden.
    7. Remove the potatoes from the oil and drain on paper towel. French Fries are ready to ENJOY!!

    Serving Suggestions:
    Serve with Chilli Garlic Sauce or Tomato Ketchup.

    Prep Time: 20 minutes

    Cook Time: 10 minutes

     Servings: 4

    Ingredients

    • 500 gm boneless chicken
    • 2 potatoes
    • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
    • 2 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • 1 red chili powder
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1-1/2 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1 cup rice flour
    • Oil for frying

     

    Directions:

    1. Place chicken and potato in a chopper.
    2. Process until well combined.
    3. Now take out into a bowl, add red chili powder, black pepper, salt  and lemon juice.
    4. Then add rice flour and beaten eggs into  the chicken.
    5. Mix well.
    6. Place bread crumbs in a plate.
    7. Take 2 tbsp of mixture and roll in the bread crumbs.
    8. Shape into the French fries.
    9. Heat oil in a deep pan.
    10. Place chicken french fries in hot oil and fry for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy.
    11. Chicken French Fries are ready to serve. ENJOY!!

    Serving Suggestions:

    • Serve with any dipping sauce.
  • Recipe: Potato Crusted Chicken

    Potato Crusted Chicken Recipe

    • 500 gm boneless chicken breast halves
    • 2 mashed potatoes
    • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese (grated)
    • 1 tsp dried oregano
    • 1 tsp black pepper (crushed)
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1 tsp melted butter
    • Salt to taste

    Method

    1. In a medium bowl add potatoes, grated cheese,oregano,salt and pepper.

    4. Greased baking dish with melted butter.

    Finger Fish Recipe

    • 1 kg fish fillets
    • 2 tbsp lemon juice
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • 1 tsp mustard powder
    • 1/2 tsp white pepper
    • 2 eggs (lightly beaten)
    • 1 cup plain flour
    • 1 cup breadcrumbs
    • salt to taste
    • oil for frying

    Method

    1. Rinse and drained fish fillets then cut the fish into finger shaped pieces.
    2. Place the fish in a bowl, add soy sauce, lemon juice, mustard powder, red chili, salt and pepper.
    3. Marinate fish for at least 2 hours.
    4. Place the flour, eggs and bread crumbs in 3 separate bowl.
    5. Roll each fish finger in flour, then dip in egg and again roll in breadcrumbs properly. Place them in a single layer on flat dish.
    6. Heat oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Deep fry the finger fish for 8-10 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
    7. Drain on paper towel. Finger fish is ready to serve.

    Serving Suggestions:
    Serve with tartar Sauce.

    Crispy Chicken Slice 

    Prep Time: 10 minutes

    Cook Time: 10 minutes

    Servings: 5

    Ingredients

    • 500 gm boneless chicken, cut into long strips
    • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
    • 1 tbsp mustard paste
    • 1 tbsp vinegar
    • 1/2 cup cornflour
    • 1 cup breadcrumbs
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • 1 tsp red chilli
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • Oil for frying

     

    Directions:

    1. Rinse and drain chicken properly.
    2. Cut chicken into 2 inch strips.
    3. Place chicken strips into a bowl.
    4. Add mustard paste, vinegar, ginger garlic paste, black pepper, red chilli and salt.
    5. Mix well to coat chicken evenly.
    6. Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes.
    7. Sprinkle corn flour over it and mix well.
    8. In a small bowl, Beat eggs.
    9. Dip chicken strips in eggs and then roll them in bread crumbs.
    10. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
    11. Place coated chicken strips in hot oil.
    12. Fry for 8-10 minutes or until chicken is tender and turn golden brown.
    13. Crispy Chicken Slices are ready to serve.

    Serving Suggestions:

    • Enjoy with Chilli Garlic Sauce.

    Potato Cheese Seekh kabab

    • 500 boiled potatoes
    • 200 gm cheese (grated)
    • 1 egg white
    • 2 tbsp rice flour
    • 2 green chilies (finely chopped)
    • 1/2 bunch mint leaves (finely chopped)
    • 1 tbsp seekh kabab Masala
    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper (crushed)
    • 2 bread slices
    • salt to taste
    • 2 tbsp Oil
    • Salt to taste

    Method

    1. Peel boiled potatoes and mash them with a fork.
    2. Add rice flour, mint leaves, red chili, bread slices, black pepper, green chilies, seekh kabab Masala and salt.
    3. Add egg white and cheese mix well.
    4. Make seekh kababs out of this mixture.
    5. Cook on a hot greased grill for 4-5 minutes or until well done. Delicious Potato Cheese Seekh kabab is ready to serve.

    Serve hot with paratha and mint chutney .

    Chicken Russian Kebabs Recipe

    • 4 boneless chicken breasts
    • 3 eggs
    • 2 tbsp butter
    • 1 green bell pepper (finely chopped)
    • 1 boiled carrot (finelt chopped)
    • 2 cups boiled potatoes
    • 1/2 cup sweet corn
    • 1/4 cup spring onion (finely chopped)
    • 4 tbsp plain flour
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 3 tbsp fresh corinader leaves (finely chopped)
    • 2 green chilies (thinly sliced)
    • 1 tsp black pepper
    • 1/2 tsp all spice powder
    • 1 tsp salt
    • Oil for frying
    1. Cook chicken for 20-25 minutes or until tender then shredded properly.
    2. Set aside.
    3. Mash boiled potatoes.
    4. Place all ingredients except oil in a large bowl.
    5. Mix well.
    6. Wet the palms and shape the mixture into oval shapes.
    7. Beat egg with salt and pepper.
    8. Dip kebabs in egg.
    9. Deep fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden.
    10. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towel.
    11. Russian Kebabs are ready to serve. ENJOY!!
    Serving Suggestions:
    Serve with tomato ketchup.

    • 250 gm chicken mince (Keema)
    • 1 egg (beaten)
    • 1 medium onion (chopped)
    • 4 green chilies (thinly sliced)

    • 1/4 cup rice flour

    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • 1/2 tsp hot spice
    • 1/4 tsp baking soda
    • salt to taste
    • oil for frying

    Method

    1. Put chicken mince in a large bowl.
    2. Add ginger garlic paste, chopped onion, egg, green chilies, coriander leaves, red chili, gram flour, rice flour, baking soda, hot spice and salt. Mix well.
    3. Add a little water to make a thick batter.
    4. Heat sufficient oil in a deep wok.
    5. Drop small portions of the batter into the oil with your fingers.
    6. Deep fry on medium heat for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crisp.
    7. Remove from the oil and drain on an absorbent paper. Keema Pakora is ready to eat. ENJOY!!
    Serving Suggestions:
    Serve hot with Pakora Dipping Sauce.

    Spicy Chicken Fingers

    Spicy Chicken Fingers

    • 2 boneless chicken breasts (cut into strips)
    • 1 medium onion
    • 1 capsicum
    • 4 cloves garlic (crushed)
    • 2 green chilies
    • 6 whole red chilies
    • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
    • 2 eggs
    • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
    • 4 tbsp plain flour
    • 4 tbsp cornflour
    • 2 tbsp semolina
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • salt to taste
    • Oil for frying

    Method

    1. In a food processor or a chopper, add onion, capsicum, red chilies, coriander, green chilies and garlic.
    2. Process until well combined.
    3. Spread this batter on chicken strips.
    4. Season with salt and black pepper.
    5. Mix well.
    6. Marinate for 30 minutes then add beaten eggs, flour, corn flour, semolina and 4 tbsp oil in it.
    7. Toss well to coat evenly.
    8. Heat oil in a pan.
    9. Deep fry chicken strips for 8-10 minutes or until crispy and golden.
    10. Spicy Chicken Finger is ready to serve.
    11. ENJOY!!

    Serving Suggestions:
    Serve with Chili Garlic Sauce.

    Step 1

    Heat oil in a non-stick deep bottom skillet over medium heat.

    Step 2

    When oil hot, add chopped onion, ginger and garlic paste.
    Cook and stir until lightly brown.

    Add red chili, coriander, cumin powder, salt and turmeric powder. Mix well.

    Step 4

    Add chopped tomato, green chilies. Cook for 5 minutes or until tomato is fully tender.

    Step 5

    Now add chicken keema and fry for 15 minutes or until oil starts separating and meat is tender.

    Step 6

    Add 1 cup water and green peas. Cook on slow flame for ten minutes or until done.

    Step 7

    Take it out in a serving bowl. Chicken Keema Matar is ready to serve.

    Step 1

    Put onions, garlic, green chilies, ginger, red chili, coriander powder and salt in a blender. Blend to form a paste.

    Cut potatoes into small cubes and set aside.

    Step 3

    Boil water in a pan. Add plalak and methi in th boiling water.

    Step 4

    Stir and cook for 5 minutes or until crisp-tender.

    Step 5

    Remove from the heat. Strain the water.

    Step 6

    Mash the leaves lightly.

    Step 7

    Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Add the masala paste. Cook and stir for 12 minutes or until the moisture evaporates.

    Step 8

    Add mashed palak and methi leaves to the masala. Stir fry for 15 minutes or until cooked thorough.

    Step 9

    Add potatoes and mix well. Cook until the potatoes are done.

    Step 10

    Sprinkle with garam masala.

    Step 11

    Take it out in a serving bowl. Aloo Methi Palak is ready to serve.
