    Here is a Pakistani twist on the everyday french fries. Super simple to make and very tasty and crispy. You can eat them any time with cold drinks or tea. Would go great with a veggie burger or any type of burger. Or even just as a snack.

    It’s a perfect recipe for a quick and easy desi snack, consider making a spicy potato chips please guests who love spicy foods. delicious!!! I serve it with Homemade Tomato Ketchup. You can serve with any kind of dip or sauce you want.

    You should always use old potatoes to make french fries. New ones are moist and are extremely raw, that do not make french fries crispy.

    Step by Step ~ French Fries Pakora Recipe

    Step 1 ~ First Peel the potatoes with the help of a peeler and wash them.

    Step 2 ~ Now cut them into long pieces. You can use french fries cutter that can be easily bought from the market also. You will be able to cut the pieces quickly and in equal shapes.

    Step 3 ~ In a large bowl, add potatoes, chickpea flour, rice flour and cornflour. Season with salt, chili powder, cumin and garlic powder.

    Step 4 ~ Add little water and mix well to coat evenly.

    Step 5 ~ Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

    Step 6 ~ Put the french fries pakora into it to fry. Make sure that the oil is not extremely heated.

    Step 7 ~ Fry them till they turn golden brown and crispy.

    Step 8 ~ Remove on a kitchen paper to drain excess oil.

    Step 9 ~ sprinkle chaat masala over them. Delicious French Fries Pakoras are ready serve. ENJOYY!!

    • 500 gm potatoes
    • 2 tablespoon chickpea flour
    • 4 tablespoon rice flour
    • 2 tablespoon corn flour
    • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
    • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil for frying
    • chaat masala powder (for sprinkiling)
    1. Peel potatoes and cut into strips.
    2. Place potatoes, chickpea flour, rice flour and cornflour in a large bowl.
    3. Season with salt, chili powder, cumin and garlic powder.
    4. Add some water and mix to coat evenly.
    5. Set aside.
    6. Heat oil in a deep pan or wok over medium heat.
    7. Add potatoes in a sprinkled way and fry for 8-10 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
    8. Remove from oil and drain the excess oil.
    9. Sprinkle Chaat masala over it. French Fries Pakora is ready to serve. ENJOY!!

    You can also bake them for a Healthier version.

    Serving Suggestions:
    You can serve with Tomato Ketchup.

    Lahori Nan Khatai

    Nan Khatai is an Persian /Indo-Pakistani butter cookie that is made with ghee(clarified butter), sugar, all-purpose flour, gram flour, cardamom, and roasted almonds and pistachios. Do try it.

    Lahori Nan Khatai Recipe

    • 1 cup flour
    • 1 cup ghee
    • 1/3 cup caster sugar
    • 2 ounce gram flour
    • 2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 2 egg yolks (light beaten)
    • Roasted almonds and pistachios as required
    1. Preheat oven at 190 degree C.
    2. Pour ghee in a large bowl.
    3. Add sugar and cardamom powder.Beat until light and fluffy.
    4. Now take a separate bowl, sift flour, baking powder,gram flour and baking soda.
    5. Now fold into ghee mixture.
    6. Stir in the roasted almonds and pistachios.
    7. Now roll out the dough, cut into rounds with a cookie cutter.
    8. Put nan khatai on a greased baking tray.
    9. Brush them with egg yolks.
    10. Place baking tray in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until done.
    11. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely. Lahori Nan Khatai is ready to serve.

    Serve with Tea.

    Step 1

    Mix besan and wheat flour. Add salt and mix well.

    Step 2

    Add a little water and mix. The consistency should be soft and putty-like. It helps if you kneed it with a wet hand.

    Step 3

    Keep the dough in the fridge for 5 minutes.

    Step 4

    Divide this dough into 4 portions.

    Step 5

    Roll each portion into a ball and flatten it into a chapati shape (round).

    Step 6

    Spread a little oil or ghee on it.

    Step 7

    Make a cut in it from the center to the edge.

    Step 8

    Pick up the cut edge and start rolling it so that you end up with a cone.

    Step 9

    With the palm of your hand flatten it while twisting it so that it once again forms a ball type thing.

    Step 10

    Flatten it again in chapati shape and fry it on medium to low heat with three tbsp oil or more depending on the size of the frying pan.

    Step 11

    Turn it over once the bottom is golden brown. When both sides are golden brown it’s done. Besan Ki Roti is ready to serve

    Remove from the heat.

    Take into a serving bowl and garnish with nuts. Besan Ka Halwa is ready to serve.

    Besan Wala Naan Recipe

    A famous desi naan bread of Pakistan that is made with gram flour, spinach, green chilies and spices. Perfect to serve in lunch time. This is a Besan Wala Naan recipe for everyone who likes to eat Naan. I learned it yesterday.

    • 2 cup gram flour (besan)
    • 1/2 cup water or as required
    • 1 onion (finely chopped)
    • 1/2 cup spinach (finely chopped)
    • 2 green chilies (thinly sliced)
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder.
    • salt to taste
    • 6 naans
    • 3 tablespoon butter or oil

    For Garnishing

    • green chilies (optional)

    Method

    1. In a small bowl, mix together the gramflour(besan), onion, spinach, green chilies, spices, salt and red chili. Add water and make a thick mixture.
    2. Spread the besan mixture on the naan.
    3. Put naan on a greased baking tray.
    4. Sprinkle green chilies over it. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
    5. Remove from the oven.
    6. Brush with butter or oil. Besan Wala Naan is ready to serve. ENJOY!!

    Serving Suggestions:
    Serve with mint raita or Namkeen Lassi

    Missi Roti

    No meal is complete without bread or rotis .In Pakistan we have lots of variations and variety of making rotis ,paratha and puris.
    Missi roti is a delicious and healthy flatbread made with a mixture of gram flour and wheat flour and seasoned with spices. The aroma that hits one’s nostrils while making the rotis is so pleasant and appetizing.

    Prep Time:30 minutes

    Cook Time:20 minutes

    Servings:8

    Difficulty Level:Medium 

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups whole Wheat Flour (atta)
    • 3 cups Gram flour (besan)
    • 1 onion, finely chopped
    • 1/2 cup chopped mint leaves
    • 1/2 cup chopped coriander leaves
    • 6 green chilies, finely chopped
    • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
    • 1 teaspoon crushed red chili
    • 1 teaspoon red pepper
    • 1 teaspoon dry coriander, crushed
    • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala powder
    • 2 tablespoon dry fenugreek leaves (methi)
    • 2 tablespoon pomegranate seeds (anar dana)
    • Salt to taste
    • Water to knead
    • butter as required

    Directions:

    Step 1

    In a mixing bowl, sift both flours.

    Step 2

    Add all the dry ingredients and mix very well.

    Step 3

    Now add onion, chopped mint leaves,chopped coriander and green chilies.

    Step 4

    Mix well.

    Step 5

    Now knead the dough very hard with cold water.

    Step 6

    Knead it for 8-10 minutes and keep it aside.

    Step 7

    After ten minutes again knead the dough for 5 minutes.

    Step 8

    Put in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

    Step 9

    After one hour, make medium balls with the help of oil or flour.

    Step 10

    Roll it with rolling pin very lightly.

    Note: ( It will be sticky so be careful.Flour will help you to roll it).

    Step 11

    Preheat griddle or tawa and cook roti with or without oil.

    Step 12

    Remove from the griddle and spread butter over the hot roti.

    Step 13

    Missi Roti is ready to serve. ENJOY!!

    Recipe Note’s

     

    1. If you feel your dough is so sticky you can add little more flour only little dont put soo much.
    2. If you have pizza stone you can also make roti in oven.
    3. You can put desi ghee on roti when you serve it.

    • Serve it with lassi and green chutney.
