An Arabian date delight. Delicious caky crust is stuffed with a far more delicious date filling. Serve it a snack or for iftar in Ramadan.

- 2 cups plain flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp yeast
- 1/2 cup oil
- Warm water to knead the dough
For Dates Rolls:
- 500 gm dates, seedless
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 egg

Place all dough ingredients in a large bowl.
Knead with warm water and make a soft dough.
Leave the dough for 30 minutes or until rises and get double of its size.
In a medium bowl, mashed dates. Add cardamom powder and butter. Mix well.
In a small bowl, whisk egg with vanilla essence.
Take a small ball out of the dough.
Roll the dough and roll out with rolling pin like flatbread.
Place date mixture over it and shape into the roll.
Cut the roll in pieces of desired length.
Repeat the same method and make rolls.
Preheat oven at 325 degree F.
Place rolls on the greased baking dish.
Brush with egg on the top of the rolls.
Sprinkle sesame seeds and almonds over it.
Place baking dish in preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven. Date Rolls are ready to serve.
