Black Chocolate Cake
This is a rich and moist black chocolate cake with cocoa powder and lots of sugar. It’s great topped with chocolate cream cheese frosting.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Lightly coat a 9×13 inch pan with cooking spray. Dust with flour and set aside.
In a large bowl, sift together flour,baking soda, baking powder, sugar,cocoa and salt. Set aside.
Melt the shortening in the boiling water.
Stir melted shortening into the flour mixture until blended.
Beat eggs until stiff.
Fold into flour mixture then stir in the vanilla.
Pour batter into the prepared pan.
Place baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let it cool for 10 minutes. Black Chocolate cake is ready to serve. Enjoy!!
