  • 500 gm chicken liver
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoon plain yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon deghi mirch
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt according to taste

For Garnishing:

  • few coriander leaves
  • 2 green chilies, thinly sliced

Directions:

Step 1

Heat oil in a deep pan or karahi. Saute onion in hot oil for 5 minutes or until they are transparent.

Step 2

Now add cumin seeds. Stir and cook 2 minutes longer until the onions turn light golden.

Step 3

Add ginger garlic paste. Stir and cook for 30 seconds or until rawness disappears.

Step 4

Add all the spices. Cook for 5 minutes or until spices are well incorporated.

Note: Keep adding water to prevent the spices from burning.

Step 5

Add the tomatoes and cook until oil comes on top.

Step 6

Add yogurt; cook on high flame for 10 minutes or until all water dries up and curry is thickened.

Step 7

Add the chicken liver. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 10 minutes or until done.

Step 8

Remove the lid and dry the excess water. Cook 5 minutes longer or until the oil seperates

Step 9

If u prefer gravy like in the picture then add 2 cups of water and cook on high flame until it comes to a rolling boil then turn off the heat.

Step 10

Dish it out. Sprinkle garam masala over it. Garnish with coriander and green chilies. Chicken Liver Karahi is ready to serve. ENJOY!!
