  • 6 bread slices
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp confectioners’ sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp almond extract, divided

For Garnishing

  • Sliced fresh strawberries
  • Confectioner sugar

Step 1

Cut out bread slices with a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Discard trimmings.

Step 2

Place eggs, milk and almond extract in a shallow bowl. Mix until well combined. Dip each bread slice in egg mixture.

Step 3

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook bread hearts for 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.Remove from the oil and drain on paper towel.

Step 4

To Make Almond Butter: Place confectioners’ sugar, remaining butter and almond extract in a small bowl. Mix until well combined.

Step 5

To Proceed: Sprinkle additional confectioners’ sugar over the french toasts. Almond French Toast Hearts are ready to serve.

  • Serve with almond butter and strawberries.
